This is the motto of the American Women's Self Defense Association. AWSDA is a non-profit, tax exempt educational organization, dedicated to promoting awareness about rape prevention and self defense for women. Thanks to the generosity of Phil Messina, Modern Warrior's® president, Modern Warrior® has been the home of AWSDA headquarters since AWSDA's inception in 1990.
There are many philosophical statements like this throughout the building at MW. This particular sign is hanging in the south gym to remind students, especially Rape Prevention students that they DO NOT HAVE TO BE VICTIMIZED.
